Hello and welcome to the Iraqi Seed Collective Substack! In an effort to stay in touch and connect with more folks away from Meta, we’re excited to be launching an ongoing archive of our work here.

We are starting off by sharing here a wonderful article about our work written by Lala Thaddeus for Prism Reports. It appeared in a three-part series, “Reseeding the Land,” also featuring rural Pennsylvania-based Sistah Seeds, Pacific Northwest-based Eloheh Indigenous Center for Earth Justice, SWANA collective Second Generation Seeds, and Alutiiq Grown, a collective of tribal and community-owned farms in Alaska’s Kodiak Archipelago. We are so grateful to be working in this larger community of seed savers from various lineages, in this longstanding traditional practice spanning generations.
